Marlon graduated from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN in public administration – concentrating on economic development and nonprofit management. He began his professional career at the Indy Chamber as a project manager assisting project directors on business retention efforts. Marlon also responded to site selectors and the state’s requests for information on various sites, demographics and business profiles. He continues to do some of these activities in his current role as business attraction and development manager.
In his current position, he provides site selection assistance, market research and data for companies interested in Indianapolis. Marlon also works closely with the Mayor’s office on development projects and the 16 Tech innovation district initiative. He has been more engaged with the tech industry upon the start of the new mayoral administration. He successfully co-planned a hack series to gather the coders and developers in the Indianapolis region to be innovative and create solutions to various civic issues facing our state and local governments. In collaboration with TechPoint and other tech companies, this series has spun out great ideas to improve efficiencies within the local and state government agencies.
Marlon currently resides in Indianapolis with his wife, Vanessa, and two children, Marlon Jr. and Zipporah.
